It does not matter who you are or how old you, everyone enjoys remote control toys. Whether it be a remote control car, truck, tank, boat or even plane; they are all fun to drive your favorite vehicles around on land, water or in the air with only you controlling the little machines. Now there is a new type of remote control toy that is adding a whole new dimension in this hobby with the ability to hover in mid air. That is right; helicopters are now available in the RC toy market from Syma Helicopters. And they are not only available, they are inexpensive and extremely easy to pilot, so anyone can enjoy the fun of flying.

Syma Helicopters has been researching and developing remote control helicopters for over 10 years. Their first helicopters were introduced to the market with the traditional 2 channel configuration. They have recently introduced 3 channel RC helicopter to the market, which have surpassed their original products in designs, ease of use and variety of models.

If you are new to RC helicopters, the main difference between 2 and 3 channel versions is the amount of control units the toy has inside it. A 2 channel can control its rudder and altitude, so you can control its left/spin motion and up/down motion. A 3 channel can control its rudder, altitude and speed; so you can control it left/spin motion, up/down motion as well as the ability to go forwards and backwards. This 3rd channel is what makes these Syma Helicopters so much fun. Instead of just going up and down all day, you can now actually fly these toys around the room and land them in a different place.

Syma Helicopters fall under one of three series and one of three types:

Mini model series, mid-sized model series, large scale model series and Lama helicopters, Military helicopters and Gyro helicopters. The latest type being the Gyro Helicopters bring these little toys to a new level with precision controls with the installed gyro. These particular models make it possible for any child to pilot. If they can drive a remote controlled car around the floor without hitting every wall, then they can easily pilot one of these helicopters around the room. Also many of the models are made with a metal frame, which makes them even more durable if you or your child end up hitting something while in mid air or trying to land on a precise location. Additionally Syma sells spare parts for all of their helicopters, so if you do end up breaking a blade in a crash, you can easily get your helicopters back in the air with a replacement part instead of buying a brand new one.

The last piece that makes the Syma Helicopters so great for young and old is the price. With the lowest price for one of their helicopters being $19.99, it is easy to buy one of these to see what flying one of these toys is all about. In the past, similar remote control helicopters with only 2 channels would easily sell for $200-$300 dollars for a single helicopter. The most expensive Syma Helicopters I could find are $99.99 with extras to make the helicopter fly even more precise, which can be used in RC Helicopter competitions that are now turning up all over.  One of the most popular models is the Syma S107 Helicopter, which retails for around $20.00.

As you can see, Syma Helicopters are a great gift for yourself, someone you know or your children if they are first time pilots or already know how to fly. The endless hours of fun and enjoyment of watching these toys fly as you control their ever move is well worth the inexpensive cost of buying one of the Syma Helicopters.

Toy Helicopters That Fly

Ok, I admit that I am 38 years of age and I have not played with an actual children’s toy in the past 20 years but when I heard you can now buy toy helicopters that fly…well I had to get one for myself.  So I went out to the local hobby store and went looking around for these toy helicopters.  Well I found about 5 remote control helicopters at this particular store.  The thing was, they were these huge gas powered scale models of real life helicopters that had to be assembled, just like a model car.  I looked at the price and they started at $1800.00 bucks.  I quickly put down the box that I was holding and started to walk out the door.

This is when the store clerk stopped me and asked what I was looking for, which I told him I wanted a flying helicopter.  He asked if I say the ones at the back of the store (the expensive ones), which I replied yes and that they were to much money and looked too complicated for me.  He then took me down a different aisle, which looked more like a aisle that children would visit.  I was then shown a shelf of these tiny little helicopters with two rotor blades on top of them.  The funny thing was, they really did not look that much different then the expensive helicopters, just really tiny…pretty much fit in the palm of your hand tiny.

The toy helicopters were from Syma Helicopters, which produces tiny remote control helicopter toys that fly.  The shelf was filled with all different kinds, Apache attach helicopters, Chinoock Twin rotor helicopters, Llama Helicopters, cool future looking helicopters of all different colors.  With so many to choose from, I really did not know which one to pick, so I grabbed two of them.  One of the future looking sleak helicopters and an Apache Attack Helicopter.  The awesome thing right off the bat about these two helicopters was the fact that in total, they cost me $70.00 for the two of them.  So instead of paying over one thousand dollars for just one, I got two for a fraction of the cost.

Did the toy helicopters that fly actually fly?

So did these tiny little toys actually fly when I got them home?  Well after charging the battery for about an hour, yes they sure did!  I have to say that I am a bit of a gamer, so I have not to bad hand eye coordination.  I thought it would be a little hard to learn to fly a helicopter, even if it was a toy, but these tiny marvels are so easy to fly that I think I had the biggest grin on my face when it first took off.  It went straight up in the air and then just sat there, hoovering in mid air.  If that is all it did, I think I still would have spent the money on it.  The bonus is that is also goes forward, backwards, up, down and turns left/right.  So after testing out each way it moves I was off to chase the dog around the house.  I know it might sound a little mean, but after about one minute of that, I was flying that Syma Helicopter just ahead of the dog as it chased the toy around the house.  The dog was having a great time, I was having a great time and I could see anyone that tried out one of these toys having a great time.

I was also glad that I bought two of these cool toys.  The battery life on them is about as big as the helicopters themselves.  It lasts about 8-10 minutes on a full charge if you are flying it around constantly and if you are like me, you will be flying that toy helicopter till there is no batteries left at all.  So after the first helicopter needed a bit of charging, I was able to fire of the Apache Attack Helicopter.  I am not sure if I would call this toy helicopters that fly, instead I might call this a super cool and really awesome toy helicopters that fly.

I put the sound track to Apocolypse Now into the CD player and turned up the song, Flight of the Valkeries.  Then I proceeded to arial attack anything and anyone that was in the house at the time.  With the music pumping in the background and that little attack chopper (pretend) blowing everything up, I think I was transported back to being 8 again.  My imagination was running wild that day and I think I played with those toy helicopters for a total of 5 hours till I got in trouble from my wife because I had not taken out the trash yet.

So if you are looking to have a little bit of innocent fun.  I suggest to go out and find one of these Toy Helicopters That Fly at a hobby store close to you or amazon.com and you can have fun by yourself or with your children.

Syma S107 Helicopter

41eJHIjuyyL. SL160 Syma S107 Helicopter

If you are looking to buy RC helicopters for beginners, then the Syma S107 Helicopter is perfect.  It is the smallest remote controlled helicopter on the market and it is also one of the easiest helicopters to learn to pilot.  On top of that, it is priced at around $30 dollars, which makes it an easy buy for yourself or someone as a gift.  Especially if they do not want it, allowing you to keep this fun toy.

These are only a few of the qualities that make it a perfect choice for a child as a toy, an adult as a toy or anyone as a new hobby.  The reason why I say hobby, is that once you start flying one of these tiny choppers, you will be hooked and want more of them.  The Syma S107 Helicopter is a great starting point if you are looking to start this as a new hobby and is one of the most popular models from Syma Helicopters.

Syma S107 Helicopter Package:

Gyro Syma S107 Helicopter (3 Colors to choose from, Red, Yellow and Blue)

3 Channel Proportional Control System

Extra Tail Blade

3.7V Li-Poly Battery

Built In Charger

USB Charger Cable

English Manual

This S107 is a coaxial bladed helicopter, this means that it has two main rotor blade sets that are stacked on top of each other and rotate in different directions.  This created a gyroscopic effect, which is one of the main reasons why this helicopter is so stable in flight and easy to pilot.  Another reason is the balance bars that sit atop of the rotor system that allows for extra balance and stability in flight or hovering.  The frame of the S107 is made from metal instead of plastic like many other RC helicopters.  This makes it a very durable toy and can withstand quite a few bumps.  Even if you do happen to crash which causes something to break, replacement parts can easily be purchased at fraction of the cost of a new complete helicopter.  This is much better than some competitors, where you would be buying a new helicopter anytime you break a piece.

To control the helicopter, you use the 3 channel Infra-Red remote control.  With the 3 channels it allows you to fly more than one of these helicopters in the same area without having the signal interfered with by the other chopper.  With the remote, your helicopter can move forward, backwards, up, down and turn left/right.  This gives you the ability to pilot your new toy pretty much anywhere you want and preform a wide range of neat maneuvers. The remote requires 6 AA batteries which are sold separately.

The battery lasts about between 5-8 minutes of flight time.  This might seem short and if it does, the best solution is to purchase a second helicopter so you can keep flying while the first one is charging.  To charge the battery, you have two choices.  The first is to plug the chopper into a computer using the supplied USB cable or plug the chopper into the remote control unit.  It takes about 20 minutes+ to charge the battery fully and as a note, it should be left alone between flights and charging for a few minutes to cool down, as it does get warm.  If you charge it right away, it can result in the battery not being fully charged and thus a shorter flight time on the next flight.

It does come with an extra tail blade just in case you break the first.  This in no way means that you have to do anything when you first get the Syma S107 helicopter, as it comes fully assembled.  The only thing required is to give it a full charge, so if this is a gift for a child.  It is a good idea to open the box and charge the battery before wrapping the box.  This way when the recipient get their great new toy, you will not have to deal with the whining that it does not fly right away.

The Syma S107 Helicopter is Fun for All Ages

These micro helicopters are not just a toy and not just for young children to play with.  They can actual help teach good hand eye coordination as well as spacial movement concepts.  This is especially true if they fly the helicopter from room to room and have to walk behind it to follow it around.  As for adults, these are great for relaxation from a long and hectic day.  Just come home, fire up the chopper and fly your annoyances away.  The only problem with that is as I stated earlier, once you start flying one of these tiny helicopters around, you may get an urger to buy more and cooler ones to fly around.

One last thing to take note of and that is to make sure you buy a genuine Syma S107 Helicopter.  Due to their extreme popularity, there are many fake S107 helicopters on the market.  These fakes come in a box that looks exactly like the Syma brand but they are missing the “SYMA” on the side of the box.  These fakes are built in a weak fashion and are prone to breaking and bad battery life.  So either buy from a reputable dealer like Amazon or make sure to look at the box carefully.

To sum things up, the Syma S107 Helicopter is a great remote controlled helicopter for both beginners and helicopter hobbyists.  They are easy to fly, they are durable if they crash and they are inexpensive to purchase.  Only one more thing to say, and that is you will have great fun flying the Syma S107 Helicopter above someones head and having it just hover there just like a real helicopter.

Syma S032

Brand new RC helicopter on the market called, the Syma S032.  The new model is very similar to the current Syma S107 model, which is currently a best seller in this market.  It is has a metal chassis, a precision gyroscope system, 3 channel control system, and is slightly larger than the Syma S107.  These features make this particular model perfect for novices and with the slightly larger size, it is considered more adult sized.  This makes it so anyone can feel comfortable flying it no matter your age.

The Syma S032 has an alloy structure and unique design that allows it to be larger but at the same time maintain a similar weight.  This means that it is easier to maneuver because the body and blades are larger on this model, so it is has a more stable flight path.  This again, makes it the RC Helicopters for beginners.

It features a 3 channel control system that allows you to pilot your helicopter forward, backwards, up, down and turn left/right.  This allows you to practically fly this RC helicopter anywhere, land anywhere and do almost anything you want with it.  The precision gyroscope system provides accurate and precise control of the helicopter through the implementation of a gyro that sit in the middle of the toy.  This makes its movements smooth and it reacts quickly to all the control inputs sent to it.  Take off from the dining room table and land on a book that is sitting on a coffee table in another room.

When fully charge(which takes between 150-180 minutes), the Syma S032 is able to fly up to 12 minutes.  This might seem like a short amount of time, but trust me, 12 minutes is more than enough fun with one of these cool remote control toys.  It has a maximum flight height of 30m (98 feet) and a range between 50-100m (164-328 feet) depending on area and battery life.  With such a high and long flight possible, it also makes it very likely that you may happen to crash now and then.  No worries, as mentioned before, it has an alloy structure that can withstand quite a few bumps.

This particular model is usable both indoors and outdoors.  If you are going to use it outdoors, be aware that due to its light frame it can easily be blown around by the wind.  If you are looking to fly it outdoors, be sure to have a good weather day in an open area just to be safe for your Syma Helicopters and other people.

The Syma S032 model includes the following: one Syma S032 helicopter that comes in either Fiery Dragon Red or Snow Dragon Silver, one 3.7v 500mAh battery for the helicopter, one tail blade spare, a screwdriver for assembly, a 110-220v charger and a complete instruction manual.  The transmitter requires 4 AA batteries that can purchases separately.  The helicopter battery does not come charged, so if this is a present it might be better to open it before hand to charge the battery.  This will save the 150-180 min initial charge that can dampen a birthday party.

This is a great helicopter and a great toy for any child.  They will not be disappointed if they get this as a gift.  Being so easy to use, the Syma S032 Helicopter will be flying around your house or backyard with the greatest of ease in no time.
